仕上げに着手しないまま、数ヶ月間眠っていたものを完成させました。
“Yankee Doodle” (ヤンキー・ドゥードゥル) は、アメリカ合衆国の民謡 (元々は独立戦争時の愛国歌) です。
日本では「アルプス一万尺」の題で、歌詞を変え、登山歌・手遊び歌として親しまれていますね。
「ヤンキー」というのは、外国人 (特にイギリス人) がアメリカ人を指して呼ぶ俗称・蔑称の一つですが、その由来は諸説あるようです。日本では、すっかり不良少年・少女の意味になってしまいましたが……。
